This non-profit primary school for the rural children from under-developed villages is in an interior part of South India. In June 2007, the dream to develop an English medium school for the rural kids of Thagarakuppam and the surrounding villages was realized. Beginning with twenty eight children in lower kindergarten, enrollment is almost one hundred and thirty in 2012 and now with classes ranging from LKG to STD V. The school follows the curriculum and syllabus prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Government and is officially certified and registered by the government.

The children of Hannah school are often the first generation in their families to attend school. Parents in the surrounding villages are primarily daily wage earners whose existence is dependent upon agriculture, subsidized by the incense sticks making industry.
